Sage Risks 280 UK Firms After Cyber Attack

This week, Sage (a software company that provides accounting, payroll and payments software for business) have released a statement saying they suffered a cyber attack through an internal login. This login has been used to gain unauthorised access to the data of some of its British customers.

The cyber attacks mean that around 280 British companies could potentially be exposed to the breach.

“We cannot comment further whilst we work with the authorities to investigate but our customers remain our first priority and we are speaking directly with those affected,” it added.

Over the past year, there have been other companies that have fell victim to cyber attacks including Talk Talk.

Todd & Cue provide cyber liability insurance to help protect the data of individuals. Many companies rely on email and the internet when running their business but this also comes with the threat of viruses, hackers and the misuse of software and hardware.
