Licensees will face changes to live music regulations, smoke free signage and minimum wage.
Deregulation of live music is set to come into force, which means that performances of live music between 8am and 11pm will not require permission. For amplified music, the audience can be a maximum of 200 people.A consultation on guidance and forms is currently being conducted, but forms will not be available before 31 October.
In addition, the Smoke-free (Signs) Regulations 2012 revoke the Smoke-free (Signs) Regulations 2007. This means that licensees will no longer need to display no-smoking signs in the entrances and exits to their pubs.
It is now only necessary to have at least one no smoking sign displayed in each premises.
